in Saint Petersburg
at the Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace

From 10th until 17th of December 2021, Meta Music Academy will present the International Conducting Masterclass in Saint Petersburg, Russia, led by the renowned Prof. Colin Metters Professor Emeritus of Conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in London, UK.


The orchestra of the masterclass will be the Saint Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, an orchestra with great history. Many outstanding soloists and conductors performed with the orchestra: Yuri Temirkanov, Maris Jansons, Svyatoslav Richter, Natalia Gutman, Elena Obraztsova, Grigory Sokolov and many others. The orchestra was founded in 1967 by the outstanding Leningrad conductors Nikolai Rabinovich, Karl Eliasberg and Eduard Grikurov. From 2004 to 2007, the orchestra was led by one of the brightest and most promising young Russian conductors of our time, Vasily Petrenko. From 2007 to 2013 and from 2017 to the present, a well-known St. Petersburg musician Alexander Titov is the artistic director and chief conductor of the orchestra.


The masterclass and the final concert (with audience) will take place in the Mirror Hall of the Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace on Nevsky Prospekt, in the center of Saint Petersburg. This building is one of the most notable palaces in Saint Petersburg, with its majestic interiors, and excellent acoustics.
